Announces 23rd Ward Candidacy
St. Louis - Mary Homan, a 26 year Lindenwood Park resident has filed to run for the 23rd ward aldermanic seat. After serving as a political consultant for legislators, Mary realized the importance of retaining good legislative authority. Mary understands the needs and desires of the residents of the 23rd Ward. Mary believes to effectively serve the 23rd Ward, an energetic, organized, and thoughtful person must be elected.
Mary has a wide array of work experience and academic scholarship. Mary has worked in South City her whole career and feels strong ties to the community. Mary has been an invited speaker for a number of South City grade schools, churches, and community groups. Mary also has considerable experience in the field of health policy. She was awarded 2nd place at the Saint Louis University Graduate Research Symposium. Mary has given academic presentations at national and international conferences. Most of her research centers around quality of life issues for children and adults with co-morbid conditions such as asthma, mental illness, and substance abuse.
Mary feels that her broad work and academic experience allow for a smooth transition into the political world. Mary has considerable experience working with policy-makers, community groups and individuals interested in the betterment of the City of Saint Louis. Mary retains good working relationships with a variety of City offices including Planning and Urban Development, Education, Public Health, Public Safety, Public Administration, and Human Services. Mary also works with a variety of community stakeholders including investors, social and health services providers, entrepreneurs, and education administrators and staff.
Mary believes the City of St. Louis is on the cusp of excellence. She feels conversation leads to collaboration and change that positively impacts the community. Mary believes the 23rd Ward is a desirable place to live and work. She wants to work with residents and stakeholders to attract other folks who will be good citizens and share in this commitment. As new homeowner, Mary is proud of her home and neighborhood. She wants to see all property owners showing the same kind of respect for their neighbors.
Mary believes the residents of the 23rd Ward are energized and ready to be part of the larger conversation. She can be a part of that change as the Alderwoman of the 23rd Ward.
